The Medical Biller will be responsible for managing the full revenue cycle, ensuring accurate claim submission, timely payment processing, and effective follow-up with insurance companies and patients. The ideal candidate will have experience with medical billing, credentialing, strong knowledge of insurance guidelines, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our busy multi-provider psychiatry practice. The Medical Biller will be responsible for managing the full revenue cycle, ensuring accurate claim submission, timely payment processing, and effective follow-up with insurance companies and patients. The ideal candidate will have experience with medical billing, credentialing, strong knowledge of insurance guidelines, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to claim submission
- Review and correct claim errors, denials, and rejections
- Follow up with insurance companies regarding unpaid or underpaid claims
- Post insurance and patient payments accurately in the billing system
- Identify trends in denials or downcoding and report them to management
- Work closely with providers to ensure documentation supports billed services and coding requirements
- Manage patient billing inquiries and assist with resolving account discrepancies
- Generate and review aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, payer regulations, and billing guidelines
- Maintain uptodate knowledge of behavioral health billing codes and payer policies
- Assist with credentialing updates or payer enrollment when necessary
- Collaborate with administrative staff to resolve scheduling or insurance issues impacting billing
- Answer patient questions regarding their bills
- Minimum 5 years of medical billing experience (behavioral health or psychiatry preferred)
- Credentialing Experience
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD10, and behavioral health billing codes (e.g., psychiatric evaluation, medication management, psychotherapy addon codes)
- Experience working with commercial insurance & Medicare,
- Familiarity with ECW preferred and billing software systems
- Strong attention to detail and problemsolving skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fastpaced environment
- Experience billing for psychiatric services and if not, at least 3 years experience in medical billing
- CPC (Certified Professional Coder), CCS, or similar certification preferred
- Experience with multistate insurance billing
- Understanding of telehealth billing regulations
- Fastpaced psychiatry practice with multiple providers
- Frequent interaction with insurance companies, administrative staff, and clinical providers
