The PM works directly with engineering leads, data science, and enterprise clients, making hard prioritization calls where customer impact, technical debt, and revenue all compete for the same roadmap space.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the product roadmap end-to-end: discover, validate, and prioritize opportunities using customer research, usage analytics (Amplitude/Mixpanel), and direct enterprise feedback
- Translate ambiguous business problems into clear, testable product requirements - PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria that engineering teams can execute against in 2-week sprints
- Partner with engineering leads on technical tradeoffs: API design decisions, platform architecture constraints, and build-vs-buy evaluations for services running on AWS (Kubernetes, Lambda, PostgreSQL)
- Define and track success metrics for every shipped feature - activation, retention, and revenue impact - and kill or iterate on initiatives that miss the bar
- Run beta programs with design-partner customers, gathering structured feedback and converting it into GA-ready releases
- Communicate roadmap decisions and tradeoffs to executive stakeholders, sales teams, and customers; write the one-pagers and status updates that keep the org aligned
- Coordinate cross-functional launches across engineering, marketing, and customer success, including pricing, packaging, and GTM input
- 3β7 years of product management experience, including at least 2 years owning a technical product or platform surface (APIs, data infrastructure, or developer tools preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to work hands-on with engineering: comfortable discussing system design, SQL, and REST/GraphQL API behavior without needing an intermediary
- Track record of shipping products through full lifecycle: discovery, beta, GA, and iteration based on measured outcomes
- Proficiency with product analytics and experimentation tools (Amplitude, Mixpanel, LaunchDarkly, or equivalent) and comfort making data-driven prioritization decisions
- Excellent written communication - can produce crisp PRDs, strategy memos, and exec updates without hand-holding
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field (CS, engineering) or equivalent practical experience; MBA or product certification a plus
- Bonus: experience with B2B enterprise SaaS, API-first products, or ML/data products; SQL proficiency; experience working in a Series C or late-stage startup environment
