What are the responsibilities and job description for the DevOps Engineer position at Evlo AI?
About The Role
The role sits on the infrastructure and reliability team responsible for the platforms that keep production systems running at scale — Kubernetes clusters, CI/CD pipelines, observability tooling, and the cloud infrastructure underneath them all.
The work is hands-on and high-impact: when deploys are fast, incidents are rare, and on-call is quiet, it's because this team did its job. You will build automation that eliminates toil and design systems that fail gracefully.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Kubernetes-based infrastructure across cloud environments (EKS/GKE), including cluster upgrades, autoscaling policies, and multi-environment namespace management
- Author and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Helm, with code review workflows, state management, and drift detection baked in
- Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or ArgoCD) to deliver fast, safe, repeatable deployments with progressive rollout and automated rollback strategies
- Implement and evolve observability stacks — Prometheus, Grafana, distributed tracing, and structured logging — with actionable SLOs and alerting that pages on real problems, not noise
- Participate in a sustainable on-call rotation; lead incident response, write blameless postmortems, and drive remediation work to closure
- Harden infrastructure security: secrets management (Vault), IAM least-privilege policies, network segmentation, and compliance-driven configuration standards
- Partner with product engineering teams to reduce build times, improve developer experience, and eliminate recurring operational pain points
- 3–7 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering, running production systems at meaningful scale
- Deep hands-on expertise with Kubernetes in production: operating clusters, debugging workloads, and managing deployments at scale
- Strong Infrastructure as Code skills with Terraform; fluency in at least one major language (Go, Python, or Bash) for tooling and automation
- Production experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and its core networking, compute, and IAM services
- Solid grasp of SRE fundamentals: SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, capacity planning, and incident management
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Bonus: Experience with service meshes (Istio/Linkerd), GitOps tooling (ArgoCD/Flux), cost optimization/FinOps, or SOC 2 / compliance-driven infrastructure work
