Overview
Join our dedicated team as a Special Needs Educator and make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with diverse learning needs. In this vital role, you will create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, develop tailored educational plans, and implement innovative teaching strategies to support each child's developmental journey.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) that align with each child's unique needs, including those with autism, developmental disabilities, or other special needs.
  • Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, counselors, and other specialists to coordinate comprehensive support plans for students.
  • Manage classroom environments through effective classroom management practices, ensuring safety and fostering a positive atmosphere conducive to learning.
  • Prepare lesson plans that integrate instructional design principles while adapting content for various learning styles and disabilities.
  • Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods to monitor progress and inform instructional adjustments.
  • Provide tutoring and academic advising tailored to individual student goals in literacy, math, physical education, or other subject areas.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, IEP goals, behavioral interventions, and communication with families.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field
  • Valid special education teaching credential
  • Familiarity with IEP development processes, behavioral health management techniques
  • Proficiency in using learning technology tools for instructional purposes
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Compassionate demeanor combined with strong organizational skills necessary for documentation and proofreading of educational materials.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $54.95 - $60.04 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
