A mission-driven nonprofit on Staten Island is seeking a Director of Budgeting to support financial operations and grant-funded programs across the organization. This leadership role will partner closely with finance executives to oversee budgeting, financial planning, and compliance related to government and foundation funding. The Director will play a key role in ensuring strong fiscal management across multiple programs while supporting the organization’s broader mission of improving health outcomes for underserved communities.
The Director of Budgeting will be responsible for:
- Supporting the organization’s annual budgeting process and development of grant and program budgets
- Monitoring expenditures and allocating shared costs across multiple funding streams
- Preparing financial reports, projections, and supporting regulatory filings including CFR reporting
- Ensuring compliance with city, state, and federal funding requirements and GAAP standards
- Collaborating with internal teams on procurement processes, financial policies, and internal controls
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- Experience in nonprofit finance or accounting, ideally within grant-funded environments
- Knowledge of government funding structures including city, state, and federal grants
- Experience with payroll allocations, fringe calculations, and cost distribution across funding sources
- Familiarity with Consolidated Fiscal Reports (CFR), COLA adjustments, and workforce funding initiatives such as WEI
Compensation: $90,000-$100,000
*one remote day per week after 3 months of training
