Overview
The Purchasing Agent establishes and maintains effective working relationships with suppliers, the campus community, and the public, and ensures the smooth functioning of purchasing services for Everett Community College, including compliance with College policies and procedures, the Department of Enterprise Service's rules, and Washington State law.

Duties & Responsibilities
Procurement Operations
- Manage the College's purchasing functions, focusing on the lifecycle of procurement documentation and purchase orders.
- Make sourcing decisions based on established procurement and supply chain practices and evaluate the adequacy of requisitioned items.
- Administer centralized enterprise resource planning (ERP) software modules related to purchasing and supply functions.
- Develop and execute training programs for campus stakeholders on procurement systems and departmental procedures.
- Communicate with vendors, business representatives, and College officials regarding procurement matters.
- Manage the College's purchasing functions, focusing on the lifecycle of procurement documentation and purchase orders.

- Evaluate the adequacy of requisitioned items and approve requests based on fund availability and institutional need.
- Communicate with vendors, business representatives, and College officials regarding procurement matters.
- Administer centralized enterprise resource planning (ERP) software modules related to purchasing functions.
- Assess annual product usage by vendor to identify and develop new contracting opportunities.
- Analyze supplier performance history and the quality of goods and services provided.
- Develop evaluation tools to assist departments in the selection of alternate products.
- Cross-train with team members to ensure continuous departmental coverage and customer service.
- Represent the department in meetings with internal and external stakeholders. Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental operations and meet the needs of the campus.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Associate degree (or equivalent experience) in procurement, accounting, business, or a related field.
- Three (3) years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or high-volume purchasing
- Knowledge of College and Washington State contracting and procurement procedures.
- Skill in translating complex or abstract information into clear, understandable communications.
- Ability to learn and operate complex enterprise software systems.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds to support an inclusive campus environment.
- Bachelor's degree in purchasing, accounting, business, or a related field.
- Experience using ctcLink or other PeopleSoft-based procurement modules.
