What are the responsibilities and job description for the Baker position at Eureka Casino Resort?
Reports directly to the Pastry Chef. The Baker’s primary role is preparing, mixing and baking of bakery and pastry related items. Employee is also responsible to ensure the quality of food exceeds customer expectations and is in accordance with Health Department regulations and department procedures. Employee is required to maintain a Health Card. Requires dependable, punctual attendance and be willing to work flexible hours as needed.
Varied Shifts - Sunday - Saturday
Assist with the preparation of food items that meet established specifications. Assist in operating food equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and established policies/procedures. Maintain the highest quality and appearance of all food prepared and served. Ensure that presentation is in accordance with standards, recipes, and procedures. Keep general work areas, equipment, and storage units clean and sanitized. Chill, store and rotate (FIFO) food items properly. Keep work area in compliance with health regulations and department procedures. All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :

· Moderate verbal and written communication skills
· Knowledge of standard kitchen measurements

· Requires the ability to follow directions from a supervisor
· Requires the ability to follow directions and procedures

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or equivalent. A minimum of one (1) year experience in food service plus one (1) year of experience in bakery or pastry production preferred.
AGE and CERTIFICATIONS:
Must be 18 years of age or older and hold a current Southern Nevada Health Card.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and understand a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral. Fluency in English required. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Knowledge of weights and measurements related to Bakery/Culinary.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply commonsense reasoning to a variety of situations. Requires the ability to understand and follow policies and standard operating procedures and be adept and proactive in problem solving. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
