What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate, Asia position at Eurasia Group?
Associate, China
Eurasia Group is
seeking a motivated analyst of China’s politics and political economy. This
role would involve working with the current China team to deepen coverage of
macroeconomic and financial policies, economic reform implementation at the
sector-level, and Chinese political developments. The ideal candidate should
have a strong understanding of the contours of Chinese economic policymaking
and the politics driving it. We are looking for a candidate with robust
training in both politics and in macroeconomics.
In this role, you will assess the politics of economic policies in
China that are of relevance to Eurasia Group’s financial and corporate clients.
You will have the ability to analyze specific sectors of the Chinese economy,
and issues of concern to multinational companies in China, such as industrial
and technology policies, market access barriers, and investment regulations.
You will perform in-depth research and will write both short
analyses and longer papers. You will therefore have excellent analytical and
presentation (oral and written) skills and the ability to write in a good,
succinct style at native English standard.
We are looking for a candidate with a graduate degree in politics
or economics (or equivalent work experience). Your background will need to
convey your capacity as an analyst and your knowledge of China. You must
understand the relevance of your analysis to a broad range of investors and
companies. Previous consulting experience and in-country experience is preferred.
Fluent Mandarin Chinese skills are required.
