Job Summary
The Saturday School Math Teacher provides targeted, high-quality math instruction to support scholars in one assigned grade level (3rd, 4th, 5th, OR 6th grade). The focus of Saturday School is accelerating scholars’ mastery of grade-level standards, improving math fluency, and preparing scholars for the Georgia Milestones Assessment System (GMAS).
This is a temporary, hourly position running from January through April. Teachers report to the Saturday Academy Coordinator and collaborate with instructional leaders to ensure aligned and effective learning experiences for scholars.

Responsibilities
Instruction & Academic Support:
- Deliver engaging, standards-aligned math lessons focused on GMAS preparation, problem-solving, and math fluency for one specific grade level.
- Provide targeted small-group instruction based on scholar assessment data and identified gaps. Use high-impact instructional strategies to build conceptual understanding and procedural fluency.
- Incorporate practice opportunities that reinforce grade-level skills and test readiness.
- Prepare weekly lesson plans aligned to Ethos Classical’s curriculum and GMAS expectations.
- Review interim assessment data, diagnostic results, and exit tickets to inform instructional decisions.
- Track scholar progress and communicate patterns or concerns to the Saturday Academy Coordinator.
- Adjust instruction to support scholars who need additional remediation or deeper enrichment.
- Establish and maintain a positive, structured classroom environment conducive to learning on Saturday mornings.
- Build meaningful relationships with scholars to encourage motivation, attendance, and engagement.
- Uphold Ethos Classical’s behavioral expectations and core values.
- Arrive on time and consistently for all scheduled Saturday sessions.
- Communicate proactively with the Saturday Academy Coordinator regarding attendance, materials, or scholar needs.
- Participate in brief check-ins, prep sessions, or debriefs as assigned.
- Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate preferred.
- Previous classroom teaching experience or math tutoring experience required/preferred.
- Strong knowledge of 3rd–6th grade math standards and GMAS expectations.
- Ability to manage a small class of scholars and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills.

- Hourly, temporary assignment at $25 per hour.
- January 10 – April 18, 2026 (14 Saturdays total).
- No session on February 21 or April 10.
- Required instructional hours: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM each Saturday.
- Worksite: Ethos Classical Middle School.
- Scholars demonstrate measurable growth on exit tickets, diagnostics, interim assessments, and GMAS-aligned tasks.
- Attendance and engagement remain consistently high throughout the program.
- Lessons are well-prepared, aligned to grade-level standards, and appropriately rigorous.
- Classroom culture is positive, structured, and safe.
- Teachers collaborate effectively with the Saturday Academy Coordinator and uphold Ethos expectations.
- Scholars leave each session more confident, fluent, and prepared for GMAS success.
