Key responsibilities
- Diagnostics and repair:
- Diagnose product issues reported by customers and perform inspections to determine the root cause of problems
- Perform authorized repairs and replacements on faulty components or parts, adhering to manufacturer instructions and safety protocols.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, or other system malfunctions using standard testing equipment and hand tools.
- Customer service:
- Communicate explain the warranty process, and provide updates on the status of their repair.
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
- Address customer questions and concerns regarding their warranty coverage and the repair process.
- Documentation and administration:
- Create and maintain detailed records of all warranty work, including inspections, parts, labor, and services provided.
- Accurately process and submit warranty claims to manufacturers and track their progress to ensure payment.
- Order and track replacement parts and materials, verifying orders upon receipt.
- Field operations and compliance:
- Manage and prioritize daily work orders and service requests.
- Maintain an organized and stocked company vehicle, ensuring it is in safe working condition.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and warranty terms and conditions.
Skills and qualifications
- Experience:
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience as a service technician in a related field (e.g., automotive, HVAC, construction, or appliance repair).
- Proven experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical or electrical systems.
- Technical skills:
- Proficiency with common hand and power tools.
- The ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
- Specific knowledge of relevant product specifications and systems (e.g., HVAC systems, electrical wiring, vehicle mechanics)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities with a focus on attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for clear and effective customer interaction.
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills to handle a busy schedule independently.
