About the Role:

The Inventory Specialist plays a critical role in managing and maintaining accurate inventory records to ensure seamless supply chain operations. This position is responsible for overseeing the receipt, storage, and distribution of products, ensuring that inventory levels are optimized to meet business demands without overstocking or stockouts. The Inventory Specialist collaborates closely with procurement, warehouse, and sales teams to forecast inventory needs and resolve discrepancies promptly. By implementing effective inventory control procedures and utilizing inventory management systems, this role helps improve operational efficiency and reduce costs. Ultimately, the Inventory Specialist ensures that the right products are available at the right time to support customer satisfaction and business growth.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher preferred.
  • Proven experience in inventory management or a related field.
  • Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or related field.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics.
  • Certification in inventory management or supply chain (e.g., CPIM, CSCP).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and audits.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments to manage inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Analyze inventory data to forecast demand and adjust stock levels accordingly.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
  • Implement and improve inventory control procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Prepare detailed reports on inventory status, trends, and variances for management review.
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage and handling of products.
  • Assist in the development and training of staff on inventory management best practices.

The Inventory Specialist utilizes analytical skills daily to interpret inventory data and forecast future needs, ensuring optimal stock levels. Attention to detail is critical when conducting cycle counts and audits to maintain accurate records and identify discrepancies. Effective communication skills facilitate collaboration with suppliers, warehouse personnel, and internal teams to streamline inventory processes and resolve issues promptly.
