Tax Accountant
We are seeking a Tax Accountant to join our Finance and Corporate Accounting team. This role reports directly to the Tax Director and will be responsible for supporting a wide range of tax compliance, reporting, and planning activities. Flexibility is essential, as responsibilities may evolve based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and reviewing federal and state corporate and partnership income tax calculations for return filings, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
- Support the annual review of partnership K-1 forms distributed to investors.
- Prepare annual and quarterly federal and state income tax accruals in accordance with ASC 740.
- Maintain and monitor the tax return filing calendar to ensure timely submission of all compliance obligations across federal, state, and local jurisdictions.
- Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns.
- Contribute to tax planning initiatives and perform tax research as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information necessary for accurate tax calculations.
- Communicate proactively with the Tax Director and external service providers regarding tax matters and deadlines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Accounting (CPA preferred).
- 1–3 years of experience in public accounting and/or industry.
- Partnership tax knowledge preferred, but not required.
- Experience with income tax accounting is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in Excel.
- Ability to manage deadlines and deliver work on schedule.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and conscientious with strong professional judgment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Eager to learn, grow, and take initiative in problem-solving.
