About the Role:

The Soldering and Electronics Technician plays a critical role in assembling, testing, and repairing electronic components and systems to ensure optimal functionality and reliability. This position requires precision and attention to detail in soldering delicate circuits and components, following technical schematics and blueprints accurately. The technician will collaborate closely with engineering and quality assurance teams to troubleshoot and resolve electronic issues, contributing to continuous product improvement. Additionally, the role involves maintaining a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols and industry standards. Ultimately, the technician ensures that all electronic assemblies meet stringent quality and performance criteria before deployment or shipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with vocational training in electronics or related field.
  • Proven experience in soldering electronic components and assembling electronic devices.
  • Basic understanding of electronic circuits, components, and testing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and blueprints.
  • Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in electronics assembly or IPC-A-610 standards.
  • Experience with surface mount technology (SMT) and through-hole soldering techniques.
  • Familiarity with automated soldering equipment and reflow ovens.
  • Knowledge of quality control processes and documentation standards.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing or laboratory environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform precise soldering of electronic components on printed circuit boards (PCBs) using various soldering techniques and tools.
  • Assemble, inspect, and test electronic assemblies and subassemblies according to engineering specifications and quality standards.
  • Diagnose and repair faulty electronic components and circuits using appropriate testing equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
  • Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions to ensure accurate assembly and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain detailed records of work performed, including test results, repairs, and modifications.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
