As a key member of our Trade Compliance Team, you will have broad responsibility for supporting Customs and Trade Compliance and all Trade related activities across the 5 Electrification Business Divisions in the U.S. You'll be responsible for ensuring that all processes are under full controllership and compliance. Working closely with our Custom Brokers, Freight Forwarders, and other supporting 3rd Party Suppliers, you will be accountable for compliance to ***'s export-import procedures & policies.
Position Responsibilities:
*Provide advice, counsel, and training to key stakeholders regarding Trade Controls, Customs compliance, regulations, and laws for U.S. Electrification Business
*Monitor regulatory changes affecting Customs and Trade Control requirements and translate changes into operational procedures
*Conduct audits of required export-import documentation and Customs filings for export-import activities to ensure proper compliance with all export and import regulations and in support of the business' Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance procedures
*Develop and implement corrective action plans to address deficiencies and/or add new controls for meeting regulatory changes and develop success criteria and metrics to track deliverables
*Provide oversight and support of 3rd Party Business Partner for Customs activities
*Partner with the Special Programs Team to identify available preferential special trade programs
*Quantify cost savings opportunities for participation in preferential trade programs and provide oversight of compliant implementation of programs
*Track and manage Monthly US Import Clearance Exceptions
*Work closely with classification team to ensure proper HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) code classifications in accordance with regulations for the business' commodities, technical data, and software.
Qualifications Required:
*Bachelor's Degree is required with a minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in Import-Export Operations and Customs processes
*Extensive knowledge US import-export regulations, foreign customs requirements, letters of credit, trade finance programs, free trade agreements and international logistics and shipping requirements is required
*Must have demonstrated full-cycle program management capability in developing, implementing, and managing process solutions to complex export-import related issues
*Professional Customs Certification/Accreditation in U.S. or Licensed Customs Broker is preferred
*Direct industry knowledge of Electrification Products or the Electrical Industry is a plus
*Experience/ familiarity using Global Trade Systems (SAP GTS Module) is preferred
*Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for *** in the US
