Position Summary
The Logistics Specialist will work under general supervision, supporting the life cycle of the supply chain products based on established business strategies to ensure continual improvement, customer satisfaction, and adherence to company policy. Being detail-oriented, the Logistics Specialist is responsible for the oversight of customs compliance, working together with various departments to meet the requirements of customers, maximize opportunities to minimize shortages, and support logistical goals as they relate to these areas.
Essential Functions

- Works with the management team to ensure required transportation service levels and cost savings initiatives are met, reviewing customer purchase orders and entering sales orders in preparation to meet shipping schedules, tracing and expediting material transactions to ensure timely delivery and staging of materials
- Review and process freight invoicing while coordinating with departments to maximize equipment space in order to lessen customer transportation costs.
- Researches and resolves issues related to the domestic and international movement of materials, resolving problems as required, preparing and maintaining shipping data analysis spreadsheets and governmental reconciliation and compliance reports as needed
- Develops and maintains desktop procedures, providing support and guidance to support staff as required; assisting management with the administration of EPI’s C-TPAT program and FTZ
- Review import documentation to ensure compliance with FTZ and government regulations; prepares and submit Importer Security Filings per CBP regulations, maintaining an internal tracking status and providing updates to external bondholders, preparing export documentation and obtaining export approval (AES) as required
- Coordinate with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, external service brokers, and internal departments; as related to the timely import, processing, and export of goods, maintaining files of supporting documentation as required by CBP regulations, and responding to questions and inquiries while providing status data, researching, and resolving problems as needed, preparing, monitoring and closing in-bond moves
- Verify inventory transactions, supports, and participate in inventory control and reconciliation, cycle counts or physical inventory activities, preparing daily, weekly and quarterly CBP FTZ forms to document the admission into and removal of imported merchandise through the FTZ and to report the Harbor Maintenance fee due

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management / Logistics or related field, or equivalent education/demonstrated experience required
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in planning, coordinating, and scheduling shipping operations within a manufacturing environment is required
- Minimum 3 years of practical experience with day to day FTZ operations with demonstrated understanding of FTZ program concepts
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to communicate with all levels of personnel
- Utilize critical thinking to propose creative solutions to complex problems
- Proven customer service skills including the ability to work with internal and external customers and vendors.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain cooperative relationships with government agencies, ideally related to FTZ compliance.
- Prioritize workload to consistently meet deadlines and external customer requirements
- Advanced PC skills are required, including experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, email, and various databases
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Actively participate in a team-oriented environment
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work in a warehouse, manufacturing, cleanroom, and/or office environment that is subject to moderate to high levels of noise, specialized apparel, safety equipment, and moving mechanical parts. This position will have exposure to and use of materials listed in the company’s Safety Data Sheets (SDS). There may be limited exposure to moderate levels of noise and other factors from production and warehouse areas.
