What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Representative II position at EPSON PORTLAND INC?
HR Representative II (Generalist & Project-Focused | Manufacturing)
We’re looking for an experienced HR professional who understands that HR is both a people function and a business function.
This role is a true generalist position supporting a manufacturing environment. It requires someone who has worked across multiple areas of HR, is comfortable being hands-on in day-to-day operations, and can also step into projects and process improvements when needed.
Just as important — we’re looking for someone who understands the business side of HR. Someone who can make balanced, sometimes tough decisions that support the business, even when they’re not always the easiest or most popular.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide front-line HR support to employees and leaders in a manufacturing environment
- Partner with supervisors and managers on employee relations, performance management, and policy interpretation
- Support core HR functions including onboarding, employee documentation, compliance, and recordkeeping
- Maintain accurate HR records, support audits, and ensure consistency in HR processes
- Contribute to HR projects, process improvements, and operational initiatives
- Be a visible, approachable HR presence while also reinforcing expectations and accountability
What We’re Looking For:
- 5 years of progressive HR experience across multiple areas
- Experience supporting a manufacturing or operations-based workforce strongly preferred
- Strong employee relations experience with the ability to navigate complex situations
- A solid understanding of how HR decisions impact the business
- Comfortable making and supporting decisions that align with business needs, even when they are difficult
- Willingness to be hands-on — this role includes both strategic input and administrative support
- Organized, dependable, and solutions-oriented
What Sets You Apart:
- You don’t shy away from tough conversations
- You understand both employee perspective and business priorities
- You’re just as comfortable working on the floor or in the details as you are contributing to broader initiatives
If you’re an HR professional who brings experience, practicality, and a strong business mindset — and you’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves — we’d like to connect.
