Position Summary
The Accounting Specialist works under general supervision to provide administrative and clerical support to the accounting function to ensure continual improvement and customer satisfaction while adhering to company policy. The Accounting Specialist supports timely financial operations by following established procedures and regulatory requirements to meet company goals as they relate to these areas.
Essential Functions

- Maintain accurate accounting records by independently preparing, reviewing, and updating financial data and supporting documentation in accordance with established policies, procedures, and internal controls. Verify data accuracy, ensure proper classification of transactions in financial systems, and maintain organized records to support audits and reporting requirements.
- Perform account reconciliations and research discrepancies in financial and operational data by analyzing variances, obtaining supporting documentation, and applying established procedures. Resolve routine issues independently and escalate non-routine discrepancies as appropriate to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities by preparing journal entries, supporting schedules, and reconciliation documentation in accordance with established timelines, procedures, and approval requirements.
- Prepare recurring financial, operational, and compliance reports using predefined formats and schedules. Collect and verify data from internal systems and stakeholders to ensure reports are accurate and completed within established deadlines.
- Support regulatory and compliance reporting requirements by preparing and submitting required government and Census reports in accordance with established guidelines. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather required information and ensure reporting obligations are met accurately and on time.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and documentation standards by following accounting procedures, maintaining accurate records, and supporting internal and external audits. Communicate with internal partners to resolve data issues and support accurate financial information.

Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or equivalent applicable education and work experience is required.
- Previous experience is preferred; experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Proficient knowledge of applicable regulations for accounting and financial reporting.
- Experience with ERP systems or SAP is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to communicate with all levels of personnel.
- Prioritize workload to consistently meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and critical attention to detail
- Advanced PC skills are required, including experience with the Microsoft Office Suite.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work in a warehouse, manufacturing, cleanroom, and/or office environment that is subject to moderate to high levels of noise, specialized apparel and safety equipment, and moving mechanical parts. This position will have exposure to and use of materials listed in the company’s Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
