Position Summary

The ME Technician works under limited supervision supporting production based on established business strategies to ensure continual improvement, customer satisfaction, and adherence to company policy.  Using their technical skills, the ME Technician is responsible to support production activities such as testing, inspection, and modification of equipment and conducts engineering tests and experiments to analyze technical operations of the machines as it relates to these goals.

Essential Functions

  1. Investigates and identifies production processes and efficiency problems; recommending improvements, conducting engineering tests and evaluations to collect data or assist in research work to perform testing and troubleshooting based on production and engineering guidelines, and developing documentation for workmanship standards and assembly drawings
  2. Assists Equipment Technicians in qualifying part quality after machine adjustments and addressing machine issues, conducting true cause analysis on a variety of issues, and examining machine performance using historical data to make suggestions for improving product quality and process efficiency
  3. Perform minor adjustments as required, working with Engineering to develop new tools that increase productivity and efficiency, including new product introductions under limited supervision
  4. Maintain documentation and schematics standards in adherence to company policy
  5. Train other Technicians in the department as needed, assuming a lead role when responding to urgent support needs and when participating in team projects

  2. Provide consistent, high-quality output to ensure customer satisfaction and create value to exceed customer expectations
  3. Regular and reliable attendance is required to accomplish essential functions of the job
  4. Maintain professional and technical knowledge of industry best practices by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, visiting other manufacturing facilities, and participating in professional societies
  5. Ensure confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism
Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  1. A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent applicable education and work experience is required; an Associate’s degree is preferred
  2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment is required
  3. Solve problems using critical thinking and sound judgment
  4. Demonstrated leadership skills including leading teams in process improvement activities and training other technicians
  5. Prioritize workload to consistently meet deadlines and production requirements
  6. Manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work in a warehouse, manufacturing, cleanroom, and/or office environment that is subject to moderate to high levels of noise, specialized apparel, safety equipment, and moving mechanical parts. This position will have exposure to and use of materials listed in the company’s Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee conducts primarily medium work with frequent periods of standing, walking, squatting, climbing, and crawling. This position requires the ability to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Repetitive motions (movements) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers are required.
