Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have 2 years of general maintenance experience.
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in the English language.
- Must possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
- Must be able to push, pull or lift 50 pounds regularly and over 100 pounds occasionally.
- Must have the ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc.
- Must have a valid state driver’s license.
- Must be willing to work harmoniously with other personnel as well as be willing to handle residents based at whatever behavior or acuity level they are currently functioning.
- Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times, hostile people within the facility.
- Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
- Must be able to maintain regular attendance
- Must be up to date with required vaccinations.
As a Maintenance Team Member you can expect to:
- Performs routine maintenance and repairs of the facility and equipment, including, but not limited to, painting, plumbing, grounds keeping, electrical wiring and carpentry, observing all safety standards and policies.
- Performs limited troubleshooting within scope of abilities.
- Performs preventive maintenance duties including but not limited to filter changes, checking of safety equipment or lubrication of motors, etc.
- As needed performs housekeeping duties around building perimeter.
- Participates fully in the Community’s Emergency and Disaster Plan, including assisting in the evacuation of residents during emergencies.
- Rotates as ‘on-call’ maintenance after hours and weekends. Carries cell phone for emergency conditions as assigned and responds immediately when called.
- Performs all duties in a safe manner and wears all recommended or required Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to eye, ear and skin protections.
- Drives company vehicles sometimes with trailers when required.
- Reports all incidents and accidents to managers and/or supervisors.
- Attends in-service educational sessions, continuing educational programs and other meetings as required.
- Possess outstanding customer service skills to customers and team members.
