Summary
The Associate Regional Operations Manager oversees all operational and day-to-day activities at their assigned location. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable laws, while maintaining a strong commitment to environmental, health, and safety standards. The Associate regional manager fosters a culture of ethics, accountability, discipline, and high morale.
Key duties include managing customer relationships, resolving disputes, understanding contracts, and aligning operations with company goals. When needed, the ROM provides hands-on operational or technical support and on-the-job training.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties may vary according to region, division, area, and/or assignment. Other duties may be assigned.
Operations and Financial Management:
- Manage regional P&L, control costs, and maximize profitability. Oversee purchases and ensure compliance with financial procedures.
- Optimize use of facilities, personnel, vehicles, and equipment. Track equipment utilization and ensure proper deployment.
- Direct daily operations and resource allocation; minimize overtime.
- Hire, evaluate, and develop staff; enforce consistent performance standards. Coordinate with HR on disciplinary issues and terminations.
- Maintain open communication with supervisors; promote training, clear expectations, and accountability.
Training, Compliance, and Safety:
- Ensure Operations Supervisors manage team training and verify completion before work begins. Maintain an updated training matrix and drive completion of required modules.
- Implement all aspects of the Safe Work Practice Manual (SWPM).
- Ensure supervisors and teams actively engage in safety and compliance programs.
- Work with HR to ensure compliance with California work rules and address disciplinary actions promptly.
Incident Management and Resolution:
- Address incident investigations in an expedited manner and according to the Incident Investigation Procedure.
- For incidents occurring in your region, you are responsible for ensuring the issue is fully closed out. You must ensure the issue is resolved, disciplinary action is addressed, new or revised procedures are implemented, a safety notice is issued, and the issue is fully closed to prevent recurrence.
Equipment and Job Execution:
- Confirm correct equipment for each job and verify customer requirements.
- Collaborate with Engineering on equipment selection, job planning, and technical support. Coordinate Engineering support for non-routine jobs.
- Ensure all onsite personnel have necessary tools and equipment in good condition.
- Conduct regular field, shop, and yard audits to ensure quality, compliance, and identify improvements.
Customer Relations and Sales Support:
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships; act as backup to account managers.
- Serve as senior field representative and resolve customer issues promptly.
- Follow up to ensure satisfaction and share feedback with management. Support account managers with project communication and account closure.
- Deliver product and service presentations as needed.
Process Improvement and Reporting:
- Improve efficiency, safety, and profitability by optimizing policies and procedures.
- Identify process gaps and recommend updates to leadership.
- Provide insights to enhance competitiveness and track industry trends.
- Complete incident reports promptly and implement lessons learned.
- Oversee Safe Work Execution Plans (SWEPS) for applicable jobs.
Supervision and Oversight:
- Enforce company policies and procedures across Operations Supervisors and their teams.
- Escalate critical issues to senior leadership when necessary.
- Ensure supervisors maintain safe and compliant work practices in the yard and field.
- Remain accessible 24/7 for operational needs, emergencies, and customer issues.
Audits, Compliance, and Communication:
- Conduct required safety audits and implement corrective training as needed.
- Report all accidents and incidents immediately and ensure preventive training is applied.
- Stay current on regulatory requirements affecting Envent and its customers.
- Ensure completion of JSA forms, SCAN forms, and BBS audits; submit at least one SCAN and one BBS audit weekly.
- Promote near-miss reporting to strengthen safety culture.
Compliance with CA State Labor Laws:
- Become familiar with and understand CA Labor Laws. Enforce 100% compliance within your region.
- Ensure meals and breaks are taken IAW CA Labor Laws. Ensure meal penalties are paid when required.
- Address any infractions immediately and inform the chain of command of occurrences.
Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree in business, science, or engineering (industry experience may substitute).
- Strong understanding of business principles, financial reports (P&L), technical documents, contracts, and safety requirements.
- Committed to compliance with laws, regulations, company and customer policies, and safety standards.
- High ethical standards in all business dealings.
- Self-motivated, assertive, problem-solver; able to work independently and meet goals.
- Excellent communication skills: leadership, writing, listening, and public speaking.
- Familiar with Envent systems, equipment setup, and recordkeeping; able to train staff.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and database software.
- Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and insurable driving record.
- Available 24/7 for operational needs in a continuous service environment.

Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Work in office and field environments, including industrial plants and outdoor conditions.
- Use required PPE; handle exposure to heights and moving machinery.
- Physical requirements: sitting, walking, climbing, bending; lift up to 50 lbs; pass company physical.
Travel
- Travel up to 20% overnight by vehicle or air for customer meetings and projects.
Safety
- Adhere to all company and customer safety policies.
- Promote safe practices per company safety manual; maintain Envent’s industry-leading safety record.
Salary : $120,000 - $170,000
