CNC Programmer – 5-Axis (Mastercam Required)

We are hiring a highly experienced CNC Programmer with strong Mastercam expertise for a fulltime job with benefits. The CNC programmer who will work on advanced programming resource in the shop, supporting complex machining operations across 5-axis milling and multi-axis lathe systems.
The ideal candidate has CNC programming experience, is comfortable programming multi-tasking machines with live tooling, and has a deep understanding of machining various steel alloys. This position plays a critical role in advancing our machining capabilities beyond 3- and 4-axis operations.
Job Responsibilities
- Program, optimize, and support 5-axis CNC milling and turning operations using Mastercam
- Develop programs for multi-tasking/multi-axis machines, including mill-turn (Multis) machines with live tooling
- Collaborate with machinists to ensure efficient setups, tooling strategies, and cycle times
- Troubleshoot and refine programs at the machine to ensure quality, accuracy, and repeatability
- Lead complex machining projects and serve as a technical mentor to existing 3- and 4-axis programmers
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining strategies for various steel alloys
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer specifications
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in programming methods and machining processes
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of CNC programming experience
- Advanced Mastercam programming experience (required)
- Proven experience with 5-axis CNC milling
- Experience programming CNC lathes, including multi-axis / mill-turn machines
- Hands-on experience with live tooling
- Strong understanding of machining multiple steel alloys
- Ability to independently program complex parts from print to production
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Experience supporting or mentoring junior programmers
- Familiarity with high-precision or tight-tolerance machining
- Shop-floor experience adjusting offsets, tooling, and setups
