Learn more about MATC at www.matc.edu.Under the supervision of the Associate Dean, this instructor will teach conventional machining, CNC machining set-up and operations in a related and laboratory atmosphere; and to provide general support and curriculum assistance to learning activities in related subjects in the area of machine tool operations and programming. Related duties include participation in division and department activities and the performance of other duties as assigned.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Prepare for and deliver instruction and perform teaching-related activities.Manage the classroom/laboratory.Develop curriculum and monitor and revise as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program evaluation.Manage equipment, supplies and materials.Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues.Collaborate with advisory committee in program area.Attend departmental and institutional meetings.Promote the education/training program, participate in efforts to recruit and retain students, and participate in efforts to market MATC.Support student organizations and activities.Develop relationships with business and industry.Complete program evaluation and follow-up.Maintain certification, continue professional development and stay current in field.Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Start Date: This position supports the Manufacturing, Construction, and Transportation Pathway and is available to start in the Spring Semester (January 2026).Hours/Location: This is a part-time role working no more than 19 hours per week. The number of hours worked per week and location will vary based on course load. Work is conducted during scheduled course hours, Monday - Friday. Modality is in-person.Salary: Beginning in the fall of 2024 the starting hourly wage for all part-time faculty is $40 per course hour of teaching. Part-time faculty are also compensated for an additional 45 minutes of time for each hour of instruction to cover office hours and prep time which is equivalent to $70 per hour. This starting hourly wage of $40 an hour is non-negotiable unless market conditions dictate otherwise.Application Materials: Candidates (both internal and external) must complete the employment application in its entirety for further consideration. Qualification determination will be based on years of credited experience that is listed on the job application only so please include complete work history.
