The Role
An experienced Construction Administrator III is sought to join the Education Team and lead complex, high-impact projects. In this senior-level role, you will oversee construction administration activities, ensuring alignment with project plans, budgets, schedules, and quality standards while collaborating closely with contractors, architects, engineers, and clients. This position also includes mentoring and guiding junior team members.
Responsibilities
- Lead construction administration for large-scale or complex projects, ensuring compliance with contracts, specifications, building codes, and safety requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for contractors, design teams, and clients, managing communication and resolving escalated issues independently.
- Conduct regular site visits to verify progress, assess quality, and ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Oversee the review and processing of construction documentation, including submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and change orders, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and forecasts, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Lead construction meetings with stakeholders to review progress, align deliverables, and resolve conflicts.
- Supervise, mentor, and train junior construction administration staff, delegating responsibilities appropriately.
- Direct project closeout activities, including final inspections, punch list management, and lessons learned documentation.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of organizational standards, workflows, and best practices.
Qualifications Required
- Advanced understanding of construction processes, techniques, and quality assurance standards.
- Strong knowledge of contracts, specifications, codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in project management principles, including scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 7–10 years of progressively responsible experience in construction administration, project management, or related roles.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring or supervising junior team members.
Preferred
- Professional certifications (e.g., CCM, LEED, PMP) or other advanced credentials.
- Experience leading administration for large or complex construction projects.
- CSI Construction Contract Administration (CCA) certification.
- Experience with educational and civic facilities.
