I'm partnering with a well-established Connecticut-based real estate developer that is looking to add an experienced Civil Site Superintendent to its growing construction team.
This is an opportunity to oversee the site development and horizontal construction of large-scale mixed-use communities before vertical construction begins. You'll play a critical leadership role, managing everything from earthwork and utilities through roadway construction and site infrastructure while working closely with project management, engineers, ownership, and subcontractors.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead all site development activities including clearing, excavation, grading, and earthwork.
- Oversee installation of underground utilities including water, sewer, storm drainage, electrical, gas, and telecommunications.
- Coordinate roadway construction, parking lots, sidewalks, retaining walls, and site infrastructure.
- Manage subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and daily field operations.
- Maintain project schedules and proactively resolve field issues.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with engineering plans and specifications.
- Coordinate municipal inspections, testing agencies, and permitting requirements.
- Maintain daily reports, progress documentation, and quality control throughout construction.
What We're Looking For:
- 10 years of experience in civil construction, site development, or heavy sitework.
- Proven success supervising earthwork, underground utilities, drainage, and roadway construction.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering plans, grading, and site layouts.
- Experience managing multiple subcontractors on complex projects.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and construction best practices.
Preferred Experience:
- Mixed-use developments or large multi-building projects.
- Municipal inspections and permitting.
- Owner/developer or design-build environments.
- OSHA 30 Certification.
