The ideal candidate is based in South Carolina or a nearby state and is comfortable traveling to the Sumter, SC facility as needed.In this role, you'll take ownership of complex electrical designs while serving as a technical resource across engineering, production, and customer teams.What You'll Be Responsible ForDesign, engineer, and validate electrical equipment including low, medium, and high voltage switchgear, motor controllers, relay panels, and related systemsProvide engineering support for active production programs, including design updates, drawings, and technical documentationCollaborate with customers on new proposals, offering design recommendations and technical expertiseSupport production, assembly, wiring, and quality teams with troubleshooting and build/test questionsDesign solutions for obsolescence replacement and long-term system sustainabilityParticipate in customer and partner meetings, including on-site field service support when requiredManage multiple projects simultaneously, tracking milestones, dependencies, and deliverables using Microsoft Planner and Project toolsInterface with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure project successMaintain high standards for product quality, reliability, and deliveryContribute to continuous improvement initiatives and team innovationApply and support ISO 9001 quality management principlesWhat You BringDeep experience with low, medium, and high voltage switchgear and associated hardware (automatic voltage regulators, governors, protection relays, auto-synchronizers)Background supporting military, marine, data center, or other mission-critical applicationsExperience with PLC hardware and programming (ladder logic, function block, structured text)Familiarity with communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, and CANbus (serial and Ethernet)Ability to read and design to MIL, ABS, ANSI, IEEE, UL, and IEC standardsExperience with equipment qualification for shock, vibration, and EMIStrong technical writing skills and ability to support proposal developmentProficiency with Microsoft Office; AutoCAD and SolidWorks experience is a plusBachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechatronic Engineering7 years of relevant engineering and product/system design experiencePE license is a plus, but not requiredSchedule & TravelMonday–Friday, standard business hoursFully remote availableTravel up to 25%, mostly to location in South CarolinaThe Culture You'll JoinThis is a team built around purpose, accountability, and technical excellence.
