Junior Shift Technician - Contract

·         Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment.

·         Conduct routine inspections of machinery and report defects.

·         Support senior technicians in fault finding and breakdown repairs.

·         Ensure all maintenance work is completed in line with health and safety regulations.

·         Perform basic mechanical tasks such as lubrication, alignment, and component replacement.

·         Maintain accurate maintenance records and job cards.

·         Participate in shift handovers, clearly communicating plant status and outstanding issues.

·         Assist in reducing downtime through proactive maintenance practices.

·         Ensure tools and work areas are kept clean and safe.

Requirements

·         Grade 12

·         N2 / N3 in Mechanical Engineering

·         Trade Test (e.g., Fitter) – advantage but not essential

·         1–2 years’ experience in a mechanical maintenance environment

·         Exposure to industrial or manufacturing equipment preferred

·         Valid drivers license and own transport essential,

·         Candidate must reside in the Port Elizabeth / Uitenhage area
