Position: Senior Staff Accountant

Location: Wailuku, HI

Pay: $45.67/hour

Experience: 5 to 7 years of accounting experience.

Education: Undergraduate degree in Accounting preferred.

Type: Full-time; Contract

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Employers Options is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join a growing and dynamic team!

Job Description:

• Support fixed asset accounting including managing Construction in Progress, capitalization of assets, booking depreciation, and leading bi-annual fixed asset audits.
• Support lease accounting under ASC 842, including capitalization, monthly amortization, and subledger maintenance.
• Conduct general-ledger account reconciliations, verify accuracy of data, and identify/correct errors.
• Support monthly, quarterly, half-year, and year-end financial closes, including journal entries, balance-sheet account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and accruals.
• Assist in providing schedules and commentary on financial results and variances to operational management.
• Support Hawaii GET tax return preparation and respond to information requests.
• Participate in the design and enforcement of internal controls as needed.
• Contribute to special projects as assigned.
• Perform other accounting duties as required.
  
  

Position Requirements:

• Knowledge of US GAAP.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly intermediate Excel skills.
• Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively.
• Solid work ethic and professional communication skills.
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
