Diesel Technician

This is not a remote role. Applicants must be able to report to work on time as scheduled.

Position: Diesel Tech

Location: Honolulu, HI

Pay: $37.25 to $39.90/hour

Experience: 6 years of practical experience with truck, tractor-trailer, and light-duty vehicle maintenance

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must be a Certified Mechanic, Registered Mechanic (grandfathered per Hawaii statute), Designated Mechanic, or Licensed Mechanic
• Vocational or technical training with applicable ASE certifications preferred

Schedule

• Day Shift: 7:00 am to 4:30 pm
• Evening Shift: 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm

Job Description

• Conduct preventive maintenance and repair of truck and trailer equipment
• Diagnosis and repair of major components, including engines, transmissions, and differentials
• Proficient use of diagnostic equipment, welding equipment, and hand/power tools
• Ability to perform road tests and vehicle diagnostics
• Basic computer skills for logging, researching, and completing repairs
  
  

Position Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of practical experience with truck, tractor-trailer, and light-duty vehicle maintenance
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must be a Certified Mechanic, Registered Mechanic (grandfathered per Hawaii statute), Designated Mechanic, or Licensed Mechanic
• Vocational or technical training with applicable ASE certifications preferred
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL Class A or B highly preferred
• Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and safety compliance requirements
• Strong problem-solving ability
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and mentor others
• Team-oriented with a safety-first mindset
• Reliable attendance and attention to detail
• Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environments and maintain alertness in a safety-sensitive role
