Responsibilities/Pay Grade
JOB SUMMARY: Reports to Facilities Maintenance Manager. Participates in maintenance projects on ECUA properties and facilities. In addition, performs various manual work functions associated with building and equipment maintenance. Also performs general maintenance tasks necessary to maintain buildings, equipment, and tools in operable condition. Usually works independently, cleaning and maintaining ECUA facilities. Performs tasks at various skill levels.
Essential Functions
Conducts custodial and sanitation services to provide a pleasant and sanitary environment for employees and the general public.
Facilities Maintenance
Cleans and maintains equipment and ensures the proper use, repair, and storage of materials, tools, and equipment.
Moves furniture, office equipment, and other objects; and applies protective covers.
Ability to push/pull 100 lbs and lift 75 lbs.
Maintains records related to material and equipment inventory and completed assignments.
Removes and replaces molding and fixtures.
Requisitions supplies and materials.
May operate various types of heavy equipment, such as lifts and landscaping equipment.
Paints interior/exterior of buildings as needed.
Landscaping duties as needed
May patch and repair drywall.
May perform carpentry work as needed.
May replace and repair fencing as needed. Building & Equipment Maintenance:
Repairs roof leaks, replaces ceiling tiles, and changes light bulbs.
May clear clogged plumbing lines, install plumbing fixtures and additional plumbing lines where necessary, repair plumbing leaks, wrap and insulate pipes.
Runs data cables and wires.
Lifts and moves heavy materials, digs holes, and performs ground maintenance as required.
May assist in air conditioning system installs and repairs.
General Maintenance On Machinery, Equipment, And Tools
Washes and cleans equipment and cleans work areas.
Monitors equipment operations to maintain efficiency and safety; reports faulty equipment.
May use an articulating lift to repair and maintain lighting fixtures and large exhaust fans at heights up to 80 feet.
All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. (Educational documentation will be requested upon offer of employment.) Two years of experience in facilities maintenance work.
Basic computer skills.
Any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
Required to work overtime when needed. Available to work 24/7 in the event of a natural disaster.
Licenses And Certifications
Possession of a valid Driver License.

The employee is regularly required to stand, bend, stoop, or reach for extended periods; be in confined spaces; climb ladders; move heavy objects and push/pull 100 lbs and lift 75 lbs.
Work may be performed from ladders, scaffolds, and platforms. Responsibilities of this position may require an employee to work outdoors, as well as in an office. Responsibilities may require an employee to work in an environment that involves exposure to unpleasant or noxious fumes and odors.
Occasional exposure to electrical hazards.
As a disaster team member, the employee is required to be available to work before, during, and after any disaster as directed.
Knowledge Of
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities/Supplemental Information
Methods, techniques, materials, tools, and equipment of the painting trade. Methods of preparing wood, metal, plaster, and other surfaces for finishing and refinishing. Different types of paints, stains, varnishes, and lacquers; and their uses. Occupational hazards and special procedures applicable to the work.
Safety regulations as taught in training such as the OSHA 10 hr class.
Skill In
Use of hand and power tools associated with electrical, plumbing, and general facilities maintenance.
Operation, maintenance and minor repair of commercial cleaning equipment, such as floor machines and vacuum cleaners.
Ability To
Work from heights (on ladders, scaffolds, and platforms), stand for long periods and move heavy equipment, materials, structures, and furniture. Multiply and divide decimals and fractions, etc. in order to estimate time, labor, and materials necessary to complete work orders. Maintain records related to the work. Read and interpret instructions.
