Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in planning and implementing instructional activities that meet the diverse needs of students.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students to enhance their understanding of the curriculum.
- Help maintain a positive and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback and support as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of instructional materials and classroom resources.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance instructional skills and knowledge.
- Support classroom management and discipline in alignment with school policies.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and needs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the teacher or school administration.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher preferred.
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive school culture.
- Basic knowledge of instructional strategies and child development principles.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
- Ability to lift and assist students as needed, including those with physical disabilities.
- Background check and clearance required prior to employment.
