Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in planning and conducting daily practices and training sessions.
- Support the development of individual and team skills through effective coaching techniques.
- Help organize and manage game-day logistics, including warm-ups, strategy sessions, and player substitutions.
- Monitor and evaluate player performance, providing constructive feedback to enhance skill development.
- Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and expectations.
- Assist in the recruitment and retention of student-athletes for the volleyball program.
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with the head coach to develop game strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all school and athletic department policies and regulations.
- Attend coaching clinics and workshops to stay updated on best practices and techniques in volleyball coaching.
Requirements
- Previous experience playing or coaching volleyball at the high school level or higher.
- Strong knowledge of volleyball rules, strategies, and training techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, for practices and games.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- A positive attitude and a commitment to promoting a safe and inclusive environment for all athletes.
- Must pass a background check as required by school district policies.
