Assistant Volleyball Coach

Summary
Elliott County High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our athletic department as a part-time Assistant Volleyball Coach. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of volleyball fundamentals, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and have a commitment to fostering a positive and competitive environment for our student-athletes. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the development of young athletes and support the head coach in all aspects of the volleyball program.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in planning and conducting daily practices and training sessions.
• Support the development of individual and team skills through effective coaching techniques.
• Help organize and manage game-day logistics, including warm-ups, strategy sessions, and player substitutions.
• Monitor and evaluate player performance, providing constructive feedback to enhance skill development.
• Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and expectations.
• Assist in the recruitment and retention of student-athletes for the volleyball program.
• Participate in team meetings and collaborate with the head coach to develop game strategies.
• Ensure compliance with all school and athletic department policies and regulations.
• Attend coaching clinics and workshops to stay updated on best practices and techniques in volleyball coaching.

Requirements

• Previous experience playing or coaching volleyball at the high school level or higher.
• Strong knowledge of volleyball rules, strategies, and training techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, for practices and games.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
• A positive attitude and a commitment to promoting a safe and inclusive environment for all athletes.
• Must pass a background check as required by school district policies.
