Our client offers a wide range of contracting services to clients in the Construction, Industrial, Utility, Transportation, and Government sectors. A fantastic opportunity exists for a Senior Project Controls Analyst.
This will be a direct hire position offering a competitive salary, bonus scheme, per diem where applicable. Position will be either hybrid or possibly fully remote with travel to project sites predominantly in the Gulf, Central and West locations.
General Summary:
The Senior Project Controls Analyst is responsible for assisting with establishing tracking and reporting tools, performance measurements, and monitoring of project control systems used to ensure/measure earned value for each project to the project cost and schedule.
The Senior Project Controls Analyst ensures that Project requirements, milestones and overall objectives are met to ensure better consistency among
projects. The Senior Project Controls Analyst is expected to use their experience and judgment to make decisions within their limits of authority.
Measures of Impact:
The Senior Project Controls Analyst can have a significant impact on Operations. This is a mid to senior level management position within the Company. While budgetary responsibility is minor, there is the potential for a large impact on the company’s profitability. Authority to commit funds is generally $5,000 without additional approvals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reviews existing project related procedures and policy, standard terms and conditions, work instructions, communications, tracking methods and tools and recommend improvements or updates to meet project and management directives and current and future business requirements.
- Evaluates estimates, identify areas of concern, and establish appropriate measures for tracking project performance.
- Maintains a common format for Project Managers to define and report project performance objectives, requirements or milestones. Supports the project team by assuring that all important aspects of the project (such as, adherence to scope, milestones, budget and schedule, manpower and equipment utilization, logistical issues, etc.) are monitored and correctly measured and then communicated to the proper team member(s).
- Provides assistance to project team to ascertain cause of significant deviations from planned performance, requirements and/or milestones. Assists in the development of action plans to correct unfavorable performance or to take advantage of unusually favorable performance trends.
- Maintains and suggests improvement in a common set of terms and conditions to be used for project related requests for quotations and/or procurement activities.
- Monitors common policy and procedures to ensure the timely preparation/submission of customer invoices, status of collections and reporting.
- Ensures compliance with change order administration and cost development including visibility, status tracking/reporting, acceptance status, and resolution of aging, unresolved or unaccepted change orders.
- Prepares and maintains project risk matrix on both costing and scheduling.
- Establish and monitor trending & forecasting measurements used and reported up.
- Handles confidential and sensitive information and issues.
- Responsible for having a high-level understanding of cost administration process and making sure assigned programs and projects comply with cost administration policies.
- Responsible for a high-level understanding of contracting, general contract administration, and an understanding of assigned program and project contract requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) including both project execution and internal administration SOPs, as well as all company policies and procedures.
- Responsible for communicating assignments and responsibilities to project personnel both written and orally.
- Administrate projects in accordance with Corporate Administrative Directives.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with a wide variety of individuals in person, via telephone and in writing. Excellent customer relations skills.
- Ability to work independently and resolve practical problems, keeping all appropriate parties aware of issues or risks. Have a strong work ethic.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good computer skills including the use of the Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and latest Primavera and Microsoft Project software
- High level contract and cost administration skills.
- Understands equipment selection and utilization.
- Ability to read and understand project plans and specifications.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Industrial Management or a related field. Must have ten (10) years of progressive Project Control Analyst experience. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
Salary : $130,000 - $160,000
