Qualifications:
190 Days
- Ce1iification as required by state in field of assignment
- Degree from accredited college or university
- GT Endorsement preferred
- Other professional and personal qualifications as deemed necessary for acceptable fulfillment of responsibilities
Performance Expectations:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate thought-provoking learning experiences
- Develop lessons/lesson plans that are challenging and brain compatible
- Establish a positive feeling tone in the classrooms, one where students feel safe and supp01ied
- Communicate clear objectives for all learning activities, reference state standards and indicators
- Establish classrooms that offer hands-on, age-appropriate activities that facilitate interest and excitement
- Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities: ELA, Math, , S.S.
- Utilize differentiated instruction to support the learning needs of students at varying levels of instruction
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials, equipment, and school property
- Utilize technology to supp01i instruction, ifrelevant and appropriate
- Observe and evaluate student performance and development
- Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments
- Discuss student progress with classroom teachers/provide suppoti for GT students, as needed
- Provide appropriate and immediate feedback on student work
- Monitor and encourage individual student progress
- Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development
- Manage student behavior and maintain discipline by establishing classroom rules and procedures
- Pa1iicipate in school/district meetings and professional development activities, as appropriate
- Enroll in coursework offered by the SCDE, as related to the needs of gifted students
- Provide targeted instruction to identified students in grades 2-5 for the purpose of Talent Development
- Foster and maintain effective communication with parents and/or guardians
- Abide by the GT schedule developed by the GT coordinator
- Perform other duties and assume responsibilities, as assigned by the GT coordinator
- Administer state assessments to identified students for the purpose of GT placement
