Electrical Build Specialist
Job Summary:
Responsible for assembling, installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and sustaining electrical systems within automated battery pack assembly equipment and advanced manufacturing platforms. This role supports low-voltage and high-voltage systems, PLC-controlled machinery, industrial automation networks, and safety circuits in accordance with engineering specifications, company standards, and safety requirements.
This position operates within a hybrid R&D and Production environment and serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned work center(s). Following line launch and stabilization, this role provides escalation-level support to production and may participate in future domestic or international technology transfers and new equipment deployments.
Essential Duties:
Electrical Installation & Commissioning

This role supports low-voltage and high-voltage systems, PLC-controlled machinery, industrial automation networks, and safety circuits in accordance with engineering specifications, company standards, and safety requirements.

Essential Duties:
Electrical Installation & Commissioning
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, panel layouts, PLC I/O drawings, and engineering documentation.
- Install and integrate wiring harnesses, sensors, actuators, relays, safety circuits, and control modules.
- Perform routing, terminating, labeling, and verification of wiring using approved methods.
- Support commissioning activities including validation of PLC logic, HMI functionality, communication networks, and safety interlocks.
- Assist in Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ).
Troubleshooting & Escalation Support
- Diagnose electrical faults, alarms, interlock failures, communication issues, and automation system abnormalities.
- Conduct functional testing and verification using digital multimeters and diagnostic tools.
- Perform root cause analysis and support corrective action implementation.
- Provide second-level technical support to production operators and maintenance teams.
Work Center SME Ownership
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned work center(s).
- Maintain deep understanding of system sequence of operation, control logic, alarms, and recovery procedures.
- Support documentation accuracy and technical clarification for operations and engineering teams.
Production Line Coverage & Operator Support
- Maintain full operator-level proficiency on assigned equipment.
- Operate production equipment as needed during staffing shortages, ramp-up phases, abnormal conditions, or training periods.
- Ensure safe startup, shutdown, and operational execution in accordance with approved procedures.
- Provide real-time technical oversight while operating equipment when necessary.
Operator Training & Knowledge Transfer
- Train newly hired operators to an operational proficiency level.
- Teach safe troubleshooting methods and proper recovery procedures.
- Support development of structured training materials and competency verification.
Documentation & Standardization
- Develop and maintain controlled documentation, including startup/operation/shutdown procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions, troubleshooting guides, preventive maintenance instructions, and One Point Lessons (OPLs), Escalation plans, ect.
- Support revision control and continuous improvement updates.
- Implement and sustain 5S and visual management standards within assigned work center(s).
Visual Documentation & Training Media Support
- Develop structured visual documentation to support work center training and standardization.
- Capture high-quality photos and video content for work instructions, startup procedures, troubleshooting guides, and operator training.
- Support implementation of point-of-use access to visual training materials at assigned work centers.
- Coordinate with SMEs to ensure documentation and training media remain current following process or revision changes.
- Support continuous improvement of documentation systems for new equipment deployments.
Technology Transfer & New Equipment Deployment
- Participate in domestic or international technology transfers.
- Support installation, debugging, and launch of new manufacturing systems.
- Capture lessons learned to support future deployments.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all high-voltage safety, LOTO, NFPA, arc-flash, and PPE requirements.
- Support audit readiness, inspections, and compliance documentation.
- Promote safe handling of battery modules and energized systems.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of DC and industrial electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, I/O diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Experience troubleshooting industrial automation systems preferred.
- Skilled in use of multimeters, crimping tools, hand tools, and diagnostic instruments.
- Knowledge of grounding, shielding, circuit protection, and safety systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a technical environment.
- Familiarity with high-voltage safety protocols preferred.
Education, Experience, and/or Required Licenses:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
- Technical certification or vocational training in electrical systems preferred.
- Minimum of 1–3 years of electrical assembly or industrial automation experience.
- Experience in manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, or industrial environments preferred.

The salary range reflected on the job positing is our good faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. While we do not typically hire at the top of the salary range, initial offers are based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience, with opportunities for growth and increases over time.
The hiring range for this position is $28.00 to $33.00 per hour.
Salary : $28 - $33
