Job Summary
Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Department Director and/or designee this position is responsible for supporting Local Education Agencies (LEAs) in the Supporting Innovative Practices Grant (SIP) to improve outcomes for students with disabilities. The Program Specialist will be responsible for supporting LEAs including schools, districts, charter schools, and local, regional, and statewide partners in their endeavor to provide quality services and programs to students with disabilities. This position requires travel to different regions of the State, including trips that involve multiple overnight stays.
Requirements / Qualifications
The work location for positions with the EDCOE Supporting Innovative Practices Grant Team, varies depending on the geographic assignment hired for. Home office required. Employee may be required at times to work at the EDCOE main campus or an alternative location designated by the employer. Due to essential job functions including work-related travel to assigned sites, residency within reasonable proximity to assigned sites, as determined by employer, is required. Central Coast/Monterey/San Luis Obispo areas Experience: Minimum five (5) years’ experience in an educational setting in programs that may include special education or general education. Administrative experience preferred. Education Valid Special Education Credential or Pupil Personnel Services Credential or California Administrative Services Credential or Master’s Degree in education or related field with a valid California credential. Master’s Degree preferred.
