Responsibilities
- Clear and reset tables efficiently, ensuring they are clean, sanitized, and properly set for new guests
- Assist servers by bussing tables promptly, removing used dishes, glassware, and silverware with careful manual handling practices
- Maintain cleanliness in the dining area, including sweeping floors, wiping surfaces, and sanitizing tables and chairs regularly
- Support food safety standards by handling dishes and utensils with proper sanitation procedures
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate table turnover and guest needs
- Help with light food handling tasks as directed by the kitchen staff during busy service times
- Follow safe lifting practices when moving heavy items such as trays or bulk supplies to prevent injury
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environment is preferred but not required; a willingness to learn is essential
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and assist guests
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking
- Knowledge of sanitation, cleaning protocols, and food safety standards within the food industry
