Responsibilities
- Advise clients on employment and executive compensation matters in connection with corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and financings
- Counsel executives and employers on compensation structures, including equity incentives, deferred compensation, severance, and change-in-control arrangements
- Draft, review, and negotiate employment agreements, separation agreements, and restrictive covenant agreements
- Provide guidance on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple jurisdictions
- Partner with internal teams to support clients on cross-functional legal matters
- Contribute to thought leadership initiatives, including writing articles, attending industry events, and building professional networks
- Assist in developing and expanding client relationships within a growing employment practice
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school with strong academic performance
- 3–5 years of experience in employment law, preferably within a law firm setting
- Experience advising employers on employment compliance and workplace-related matters
- Active bar admission in good standing (New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut preferred; other jurisdictions considered)
- Experience with multi-state employment law compliance is a plus
