We are seeking skilled maintenance personnel for routine maintenance on multi-family properties throughout the Twin Cities.
We are seeking a Full Time Grounds Maintenance Worker. As a Grounds Worker, you play a key role in making our apartment communities a great place to live. The Grounds Worker is a “hands on” member of our team whose focus is curb appeal! EIG properties are located in Minneapolis, St. Paul and surrounding suburbs..
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lawn and Landscape Maintenance:
- Mow, trim, and edge lawns.
- Plant, water, and prune trees, shrubs, and flowers.
- Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides to maintain healthy plants and lawns.
2. Hardscape Maintenance:
- Sweep and clean paths, sidewalks, and driveways.
- Maintain outdoor structures (benches, fences, signs, etc.).
3. Trash and Debris Removal:
- Empty trash receptacles and maintain cleanliness of outdoor areas.
- Handle trash-outs left behind in apartments and on the property, including heavy and bulky furniture.
- Pick up and remove litter and debris from lawns and walkways.
4. Seasonal Tasks:
- Prepare grounds for different seasons (i.e., raking leaves in the fall, salting walkways in winter).
- Remove snow and ice from walkways, driveways, and parking areas in winter.
5. Equipment Maintenance:
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment, such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and snowplows.
- Ensure all tools and machinery are in good working order.
6. Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures while using equipment and chemicals.
- Report any safety hazards or maintenance needs promptly.
7. General Grounds Maintenance:
- Assist with planting, weeding, and maintaining flower beds and garden areas.
- Monitor irrigation systems and ensure proper functioning.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in groundskeeping or landscaping (preferred).
- Knowledge of landscaping tools and equipment.
- Ability to perform physical labor and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Knowledge of safety practices related to landscaping work.
- Strong attention to detail and a good eye for aesthetics.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Stamina for working long hours outdoors.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive motions.
Work Environment:
- Outdoor environment, with exposure to varying weather conditions.
- May require evening or weekend work, depending on property needs.
- Ability to work across multiple locations with transportation provided.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
