Job Summary
Effy Jewelry is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable/Receivable Specialist to support the day-to-day financial operations of our Retail Division. This role is responsible for managing the full cycle of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting cash flow management. The ideal candidate will work closely with internal teams, vendors, and customers to resolve discrepancies, improve processes, and contribute to the overall efficiency and accuracy of the company’s financial operations.
This position is based at our NYC headquarters and requires working onsite five days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Accounts Payable Management:
- Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring proper coding and approval.
- Prepare and process payments through checks, electronic transfers, and other methods.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or billing issues.
2. Accounts Receivable Management:
- Generate customer invoices and statements promptly and accurately.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on overdue payments.
- Apply payments received to customer accounts and reconcile discrepancies as needed.
3. Cash Management:
- Monitor cash flow and ensure sufficient funds are available for payments.
- Prepare and maintain cash forecasts to support business operations.
4. Financial Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports related to accounts payable and receivable.
- Provide analysis and insights into payment trends, aging balances, and cash flow projections.
5. Vendor and Customer Relations:
- Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors and customers, addressing inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with internal departments and stakeholders to ensure alignment on payment terms and resolve any payment-related discrepancies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience in accounts payable and/or accounts receivable roles, preferably in the retail industry.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
