ESC is seeking two Property Accountants to support financial operations across our premier client’s multifamily, commercial, and association property portfolio. Both openings are hybrid roles—working 3 days per week onsite in Kenosha—and begin as temporary assignments with the potential for permanent conversion. We are hiring for two similar roles, with the key difference outlined below:
🔹 OPENING #1 — Property Accountant (RealPage Required)
This position requires strong, hands-on experience with RealPage accounting software. Candidates must be comfortable navigating RealPage and leveraging its reporting, general ledger, and property management accounting functionalities.
🔹 OPENING #2 — Property Accountant (RealPage Not Required)
RealPage experience is preferred but NOT required for this opening. Candidates with solid property accounting experience using other platforms (Yardi, MRI, AppFolio, etc.) are encouraged to apply. Training on RealPage can be provided.
Role Summary (Applies to Both Openings)
The Property Accountant plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, safeguarding company assets, and supporting department leadership through timely analysis and reconciliation work. This role involves full-cycle property accounting, reporting, tax preparation, and continuous process improvement across assigned properties.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete monthly financial statement reviews and budget-to-actual analysis.
- Prepare and file sales tax and property tax returns.
- Perform annual CAM reconciliations.
- Reconcile key balance sheet and operating accounts.
- Record and review revenue related to property sales.
- Review billable tenant work orders and coordinate with maintenance teams.
- Develop and maintain management reporting from the accounting system.
- Process annual entity registration fees.
- Prepare cross-entity charges, settlements, and management fees.
- Post complex, confidential journal entries.
- Review financing arrangements to ensure proper accounting and compliance.
- Evaluate and improve policies, procedures, and workflow efficiencies.
- Support leadership on special projects as needed.
Qualifications (Required for Both Openings)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- 5–7 years of property accounting or real estate accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and real estate accounting terminology.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional environments.
- Ability to work 3 days onsite in Kenosha, WI.

Opening #1 – RealPage Required
- Must have direct, hands-on experience using RealPage for property accounting.
Opening #2 – RealPage Not Required
- RealPage experience a plus, but not required.
- Experience with other property management systems acceptable; training will be provided.
Work Environment
