Job Description:
Edgewood ISD is seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable individual to join our team as a District ESL Coordinator and Interventionist. This position requires a passion for teaching, a deep understanding of the assigned subject matter, and the ability to inspire and motivate students. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Develop, coordinate, and implement district-wide ESL programs.
Provide direct interventionist support in reading and math, identifying students who require additional assistance and developing tailored strategies to improve their understanding and performance.
Work closely with teachers, administrators, and other staff to ensure the effective delivery of ESL instruction.
Provide intervention strategies and support for students who are struggling with English language acquisition.
Monitor and evaluate the progress of ESL students and adjust programs as necessary.
Provide professional development and training for staff on ESL strategies and techniques.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure the integration of ESL strategies across all content areas.
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding ESL instruction.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of ESL instruction and intervention strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
Strong organizational and planning skills.
Ability to analyze data and use it to inform instructional decisions.
Proficiency in using technology to support instruction.
Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements
ESL Certification required
