The Utility Person is a hands-on role supporting daily shop operations across multiple departments, including machining, fabrication, and production. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with tools, learning different processes, and contributing to a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

About the Role:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support shop production and setup operations across machining, welding, heat treating, spinning, and shipping
- Assist with hot spin operations, monitoring torch temperatures to maintain proper tooling and part conditions
- Perform basic fabrication tasks, including grinding, deburring, buffing, and weld preparation
- Assist with rigging, staging, and moving parts and tooling throughout the facility
- Handle materials, including transporting parts between departments and removing scrap
- Maintain the cleanliness of machinery, tools, and work areas, including applying rust prevention as needed
- Organize and maintain inventory of parts, tooling, and storage areas
- Assist with packing work-in-progress (WIP) and finished goods for shipment
- Support quality processes, including the removal of material test coupons
- Accurately complete job documentation and reporting
- Follow all safety protocols and properly utilize required PPE
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, material handling, or maintenance
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Experience using hand and power tools such as grinders, drills, and polishers
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn multiple shop functions
- Forklift experience required, OSHA certification preferred
- Hoisting licenses 1C and 3A preferred
- Dependable, team-oriented, and strong work ethic
