Eastern Florida State College is currently seeking applications for the full-time position of Veterinary Technology Laboratory Coordinator on the Cocoa Campus in Cocoa, Florida.
Salary & BenefitThe annual salary is $45,000.00. Successful internal candidates for external job postings should be aware that their current salary does not transfer to the new position. Salary will be as advertised in the job announcement. Full-time employees of Eastern Florida State College receive fringe benefits including health insurance and a retirement plan.
Position ConceptResponsible for off campus clinical sites for both first- and second-year Veterinary Nursing and Veterinary assistant students. Responsible for overseeing on campus laboratory facilities.
Minimum QualificationsThe following minimum qualifications for this position must be met before any applicant will be considered:
- Associate of Science degree from an AVMA accredited Veterinary Nursing/Nursing program.
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Applied Science from an accredited institution preferred.
- Certified Veterinary Technician with current certification in the State of Florida.
- Two years clinical experience.
- Experience in clinical practice (2 years minimum) specialty practice preferred.
- Valid Florida Driver's License required.
- A review of Social Media activity will be part of the candidate evaluation process.
- This position will require successful fingerprinting and the candidate chosen will be required to pay (currently $36.00). This fingerprinting fee ($36.00) is non-refundable.

- High School Diploma or GED or transcripts or official transcripts of all collegiate work (as appropriate for the position) must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Human Resources Office prior to the first day of employment. All foreign degrees must have a course-by-course official evaluation and translation sent to the Human Resources Office directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc.
Minimum working and physical conditions:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with all levels of staff, faculty, and students.
- Ability to access, input and retrieve information and/or data from a computer.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds.
- Ability to carry light-weight objects (books, manuals, briefcase, laptop).
- Works inside in an office environment.
- May be required to travel to alternate sites on occasion.
- Must adapt to frequent interruption from telephone, staff and student traffic in office.
