The Veterinary Dermatology Center specializes in diagnosing, treating, and managing diseases of the skin and ears in companion animals. We are a hardworking, lively, and close-knit private practice looking for an experienced, part-time veterinary technician to complete our team. The technician will work primarily at our Rockledge location, but s/he will also need to travel to Altamonte Springs to our primary location as needed.
A Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) with a minimum of 3 years of experience is preferred. Non-CVT applicants are welcome as long as they have a minimum of 5 years of technical experience. The candidate must be proficient in performing basic technical procedures, including patient restraint, reading cytology, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, calculating drug doses, and giving medication using multiple routes of administration.
**Proficiency in anesthetic monitoring and assisting in surgical procedures is a plus. Additionally, it is essential that the candidate be strongly focused, attentive to detail, and diligent!**
Good computer skills, including the ability to transcribe oral conversations in real-time and quickly learn new veterinary-specific software, are also a necessity for success in this position.
