Eastern Florida State College is currently seeking applications for the full-time position of Student Account Specialist on the Cocoa Campus in Cocoa, Florida.
Salary & BenefitThe annual salary is $34,270. Successful internal candidates for external job postings should be aware that their current salary does not transfer to the new position. Position ConceptThe Student Account Specialist supports daily operations of back-office Students Accounts & Student Accounts Business Offices. This position assists with staff training at the Student Accounts Business Offices as well as payment processing and traveling to any of the four campuses, as needed. The Student Account specialist assists with internal control issues as it relates to cash collection, including invoicing, collections processing, disputes, and reconciling. This position engages with a high volume of social interaction through emails, chats, phone calls, and in person.
Minimum QualificationsThe following minimum qualifications for this position must be met before any applicant will be considered:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Previous experience with cash handling, reconciling, and strong customer service skills in an accounting related field.
- Previous experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook (or similar email application) preferred.
- Banner AR/Student experience preferred.
- Valid Florida Motor Vehicle Operator’s license required.
- A review of Social Media activity will be part of the candidate evaluation process.
- This position will require successful fingerprinting and the candidate chosen will be required to pay (currently $36.00).This fingerprinting fee is non-refundable.

- High School Diploma or GED or transcripts or official transcripts of all collegiate work (as appropriate for the position) must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Human Resources Office prior to the first day of employment. All foreign degrees must have a course-by-course official evaluation and translation sent to the Human Resources Office directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc.
Minimum working conditions/physical effort:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to occasionally lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to sit and/or stand, bend, reach, and view a display screen for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to access, input, and retrieve information and/or data from a computer, for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to tear tape from a tape dispenser and tape down high volume of small receipts on 8 1/2 x 11 paper.
- Ability to function in a high-stress office environment.
