What are the responsibilities and job description for the Information Technology Project Manager 2025/26 position at East Irondequoit Central School District?
There is an immediate opening in the Information Technology Department for an IT Project Manager. This position is 12-months, working Monday through Friday and responsible for ensuring the availability and reliability of devices, systems, and networks.
Duties are but not limited to the following:
- Coordinate and manage the Information Technology department's daily IT operations.
- Oversee Helpdesk and ticketing assignments.
- Prioritize and monitor IT department projects, workloads, and deadlines.
- Facilitate cross-training between IT technicians.
- Escalate critical technology issues and work collaboratively on resolutions.
- Assist in evaluating department staff and identifying areas for growth.
- Assist in coordinating and scheduling work with outside IT vendors and BOCES including, but not limited to, network cabling, audiovisual systems, overhead paging/lockdown systems.
- Ensure users' technology needs are met.
- Manage and oversee IT hardware inventory including deliveries, storage, and surplus.
- Manage and assign work as needed to IT interns and ensure they are fully supported and working productively on tasks assigned.
- Oversee daily operations and support of student helpdesk at secondary schools to ensure continuity of the program in support of district goals.
- Work on data security projects in conjunction with members of the IT Team and Executive Director of Technology as needed.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus EITHER:
(A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in an information technology or computer science field plus three (3) years paid full-time, or part-time equivalent experience in computer programming, computer design, systems development or administration, or network administration, one (1) year of which must have been in information technology project management; OR,
(B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate’s degree in an information technology or computer science field plus five (5) years paid full-time, or it's part-time equivalent experience as defined in (A) above one (1) year of which must have been in information technology project management; OR,
(C) Seven (7) years of paid full-time or part-time equivalent professional* experience as defined in (A) above, of which one (1) year of which must have been in information technology project management; OR,
(D) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B), and (C).

- Inherent problem-solving ability, and the capacity to adapt to ever-changing technology.
- Knowledge of technology and operations in a K-12 environment a plus.
- Management experience preferred.
