What are the responsibilities and job description for the Martitime Adventures Field Trip Instructor position at DUXBURY BAY MARITIME SCHOOL INC?
Maritime Adventures Field Trip Instructors are role models and teachers for youth aged 8-18 visiting from local community groups. Participants will engage in activities such as sailing, kayaking, exploring Duxbury Bay via boat or van, and marine science education. Instructors will oversee a group of up to 12 participants for half day experiences.
Some Maritime Adventures Instructors may be assigned to run stations for marine science lessons or specific on-the-water activities for groups of 6-12 participants. As a station leader for community group visits, Instructors will set up activities or lessons, teach with enthusiasm and excitement, and clean up at the end of each lesson block.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Leading Group introductions, lesson plans, and on the water activities

Engaging in water activities, including kayaking and sailing, alongside participants.

Teaching and managing group behavior with enthusiasm.

Following all DBMS safety protocols and procedures.
Qualifications:

A valid lifeguard certification is preferred.

Enthusiasm for teaching and working with youth and community groups.

Strong organizational and communication skills.

A commitment to safety and fostering a positive learning environment.

Safesport, First Aid/CPR, ACA Paddlesports Certifications must be completed prior to starting employment
