What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marine Science Field Trip Instructor position at DUXBURY BAY MARITIME SCHOOL INC?
The Duxbury Bay Maritime School hosts field trips for school children in May and June. During field trips, you will teach pre-planned lessons for students in Grades K-6. During field trips, Instructors will be responsible for groups of 15-25 students with parent or teacher chaperones.
After field trips end in June, we shift our focus to summer programming. As a part-time summer Instructor, you will be a role model and instructor for youth ages 2-12. Instructors collaborate with other staff and program directors to develop and implement innovative and engaging marine science offerings. Duties include driving our 15-passenger van, supervising lab activities, and teaching age-specific lessons.
Ideal candidates can work from May to August, but we will still consider applicants with a more limited availability.
Marine Science Instructors are role models and instructors for youth ages 2-12. Instructors collaborate with other staff and program directors to implement innovative and fun marine science offerings.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supervising lab activities and teaching age-specific marine science lessons
- Overseeing and leading field trips to locations around Duxbury Bay
- Chaperoning occasional field trips to remote locations
- Follow all DBMS safety protocols and procedures
