What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maritime Adventures Instructor position at DUXBURY BAY MARITIME SCHOOL INC?
Summer Maritime Adventures Instructors are role models and teachers for youth aged 6-12 participating in sailing, kayaking, exploring Duxbury Bay via boat or van, and marine science programs. Instructors will oversee a group of 12 children for a six-hour day.
Some Maritime Adventures Instructors may be assigned to run stations for engineering challenges, STEM activities & marine science lessons for groups of 6-12 participants. As a station leader in the Maritime Adventures program, instructors will be expected to set-up a particular activity or lesson, teach with enthusiasm and excitement, and clean up the activity at the end of the lesson block.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead engaging and fun morning & free-time activities
- Engage in water activities including kayaking and sailing alongside student participants
- Teach and manage group behavior
- Follow all DBMS safety protocols and procedures
Qualifications:
Qualifications: Minimum age 16. Instructors must complete First Aid, CPR, AED, Heads Up & SafeSport certifications before programs start. Applicants must have experience working with children and be comfortable working outdoors and on boats.
Salary : $16 - $17
