GENERAL STATEMENT

Dutchess BOCES' Adult Learning Institute is looking for qualified Automotive Technicians to share their expertise and train the next generation of technicians and build the workforce! As a part-time instructor, you will teach adult learners foundational to advanced skills needed to launch or advance their careers in the automotive industry. This is a part-time evening position. Each course ranges from approximately 130 to 135 hours, are schedule two to three evenings per week, for 3-4 hours per night. Courses last two to three months each.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in the automotive field with an associate's degree, but the right candidate's years in the field and experience level and certifications will be considered over education.

Responsibilities
The chosen candidate will lead a cohort of adult students through the Automotive Technology curriculum. There are 3 courses: Automotive 1 Basic Systems; Automotive 2: Troubleshooting and Problem Solving in Basic Systems and Automotive 3 More Advanced Systems. Classes include lecture and lab time to introduce systems, tools, maintenance, repair, customer service, and shop safety, and more advanced systems and troubleshooting as the classes continue. Instruction in employability skills such as career skills including resume and cover letter writing and interviewing will be provided by an ALI career counselor. The goal is to prepare students to enter the workforce.
EVALUATION: Program Coordinator
SALARY: $30- $40 per hour (depending on experience)
